Why Boca Raton?

Posted on 25th January, by in Brighter Idea. No Comments

Lately all of our clients and friends have been asking us why we have decided to relocate Brighter Idea to Boca Raton, FL.

The short answer is for the obvious, an average temperature in the 70′s all year round,  living 10 minutes from some of the best beaches in the United States, and a great place to raise a family with some of Florida’s best schools.

The long answer is a little more involved, so I think it’s best to put it in a list.

  • Boca Raton, located in Palm Beach County South Florida, is fast becoming a tech hub.
  • Boca, as the locals call it, is often associated with grandparents and old people.  What a lot of people don’t know is that while we do appreciate their population in the winter months, most residents live here full time.
  • There is an extremely vibrant business community, with the offices or global headquarters of well known names such as Office Depot, Tyco, IBM, and FriendFinder to name a few.
  • Boca is known for its affluent community and high income demographic

Here are some facts about Boca:

  • Boca Raton is often translated into “The Mouth of the Rat” . Boca a spanish word meaning inlet and ratón is a nautical term describing rocks which gnaw at cables used to hold down ship’s.
  • It was first settles in 1895 by T.M. Rickards who built his house from driftwood.
  • Home to Florida Atlantic University (FAU)
  • Lynn University located on Military Trail will host the final Presidential debate against Barak Obama and the nominee for the Republican Party
  • Boca Raton is the birthplace of the original IBM personal computer

There is a lot more to get into and in the coming months I will be posting more info on Boca and the surrounding areas so stay tuned
